Happy Friday, folks.
We're gonna start off the weekend right with a classic Irish tune.
Since the St. Patrick's Day parade is being celebrated tomorrow in Chicago, it only feels right to follow along with the city's theme.
This week's edition: The Kilkennys, circa 2011 in Germany.
Now there are several versions of this Irish tune that one can find on the internet.
The last one that should be listened to is Ed Sheeran's version, in my opinion.
He fucked up by creating his own lyrics and by not following tradition, in my opinion.
It's a classic song, dawg. Stick to the cover and stick to what makes it a classic.
With that being said, the reason I picked the version from The Kilkennys is because of the name of their band.
My father is from Ireland, from a small village called Tullaroan.
Tullaroan is right outside Kilkenny, a city in Ireland.
My father is a professional Irish musician.
Sounds crazy, right? It's the truth.
The old man is living the American Dream, in my opinion.
And tomorrow is his busiest day of the year.
Being busy is great for his business. The busier the better.
Shout out to my dad.
Shout out to all the Irish & Chicago folks celebrating St. Patrick's Day a week early.
Salute.
